Signature Genomic Laboratories, a PerkinElmer company, and the ACMG Foundation for Genetic and Genomic Medicine offer the "Signature Genomic Travel Award" support one recipient each year -- for five years beginning in 2008 -- allowing them to attend the ACMG Annual Clinical Genetics Meeting. The Award winner is selected from the first authors who are ACMG members that submitted abstracts for the scientific program.
The availability of the Travel Award is posted when the ACMG abstract submission is announced; and those who wish to enter the competition will indicate so on their abstract submission. Those eligible include students, trainees, or junior faculty (instructor or assistant professor) and must be an ACMG member. The program committee selects the recipient based on scientific merit from those abstracts that were selected for platform presentations. The Signature Genomics Travel Award will be presented to the recipient at the annual meeting and announced at the time the recipient is introduced for their platform presentation. In addition, the recipient is identified in the abstract/program book as receiving the award and a small paragraph about the award is also printed in the book.
