The ACMG Foundation’s Early Career Travel Award helps promising young leaders to cover the costs associated with attending the Annual ACMG Clinical Genetics Meeting. Since 2008, more than a dozen early-career thought leaders in genetic and genomic medicine were granted this honor.
The Award is available to ACMG members who are students, trainees, or junior faculty.* Winners must be listed as “first authors” on scientific program abstracts submitted to the ACMG Annual Clinical Genetics Meeting. To enter the competition, applicants should indicate that they wish to be considered on their abstract submission.
The program committee selects the final Travel Award recipient based on scientific merit from those abstracts selected for platform presentations. The Award is presented to the recipient at the Annual Meeting and announced when the recipient is introduced for their platform presentation. Recipients are also listed on the ACMG Meeting Website and via on-site signage. ACMG’s social media platforms will also announce the honor.
*For this award, “junior faculty” applies to both instructors and assistant professors.
